Kanchanaburi Province is known for its stunning national parks, dense jungle, waterfalls, limestone caves, as well as the WWII-era Burmese Railway. It was built by prisoners of war and immortalized in the film “The Bridge on the River Kwai.”
Kanchanaburi is a laid back province and easy to travel, as most of the main sights can be reached on day trips from the provincial capital Kanchanaburi town. The town itself has plenty of accommodation, restaurants, cafes and activities on offer.
